Kirstin Wood, the founder of MPENZY, has a lifelong passion for plants and a successful history in the organic beauty industry. Raised to value a natural, organic lifestyle, Kirstin firmly believes in the nurturing, essential relationship between a healthy mind and a healthy body.
Exposed to complementary medicine her entire life, Kirstin became fascinated with plant-based medicine from a young age. As a teenager she read A Shaman’s Apprentice, about a PhD Ethnobotanist who searches the rain forest for new plant-based medicines, and knew even then her career would be focused on scientific plant medicine.
Kirstin later attended the University of Wales – College of Phytotherapy's BSc (Hons) Phytotherapy program and was immediately hired to create a line of herbal tincture formulas for a small company upon leaving university.
With 29 years of cannabis experience, 20 years of beauty and plant experience, and more than 15 years running well-known retail companies, Kirstin transferred her abundance of knowledge into launching her very own organic hemp-based skincare brand. Turning her passions into a tangible product, Kirstin combined her love of world travel, cannabis, plants, and skincare along with her cheeky nature and global upbringing to create a singularly unique company with an authentic vision and voice.
In 2017, using her knowledge of organic beauty products and the power of plants, and the importance of self-empowerment, Kirstin began to research products for her new company, MPENZY. To capture these two very different ideals, she harnessed the best of nature to help you naturally be your best -- whatever that happens to be. MPENZY is all about pure ingredients for organic skincare products that are clean, all-natural, uniquely beautiful, and not afraid to be fiercely unpredictable. Just like you.
While creating her products, Kirstin scoured the globe for ethically sourced, organic plants, and ideas for every day products scented with tantalizing essential oils that soothe sensitive skin, relieve pain, and lusciously moisturize. Why? Because she’ll take any excuse to jump on a plane. But also, because she thinks real beauty comes from real ingredients.
MPENZY’s belief is all about taking care of ourselves, of those around us, and of the world we are lucky enough to live in. And, it fully claims that change can start with the smallest of actions. For MPENZY, that means building a brand that truly focuses on transparency, compassion, giving back, and treating people in ways that would make mom proud.
